Working with Registry Files
Registry files are files (in plain text or binary format) which contain information about keys and values of the registry. Data from the registry file can be added to the registry; this operation is known as importing. The reverse operation, when the data from the registry is saved to a file, is called export. More information on how to import and export can be found in the Registry Export and Import topic.
Registry files are handy when you need to add the same data to the registry several times or on different computers.
As was mentioned above, registry files can have the plain text and binary format. Files of the first type, as a rule, have the .reg extension. Registry files in binary format do not have a strictly specified extension. Reg Organizer allows you to edit registry files in the text format. Binary files cannot be edited, but they can be imported or exported.
