Registry Cleanup

When working under the modern operating systems, the registry cleanup does not bring significant benefits and stays in the program as a legacy of the Windows XP and earlier systems era. The following registry cleaning benefits are mostly applied to Windows XP and earlier systems.

The invalid registry entries search and cleanup is performed as a part of the system cleanup function.

As we install new applications, they add data to the Windows registry, which grows in size. When an application becomes useless and we uninstall it, often some information still remains in the registry, even if we use its own built-in uninstall tool and the software removal is done correctly.

Usually, if working under the modern Windows versions, such superfluous or incorrect entries do not have a noticeable impact on system performance. However, in some cases the invalid registry items may lead to application errors.

In addition, removal of the invalid registry entries allows you to remove links to files that no longer exist from the Windows interface. For instance, using the System Cleanup tool of Reg Organizer cleans the links to the already removed or moved files off the drop-down lists displayed in the open and save file Windows dialog boxes. This results in showing only the actual items in all applications, which use the Windows open or save file dialog box.
