Removal Tools from the Developers
For some (but not all) applications, their developers provide a special tool that allows you to completely remove this application from the system. These tools differ from the standard uninstallers that most programs have. Often antivirus developers provide such tools. The standard uninstaller in some cases cannot completely remove the application (or refuses to work at all), if something went wrong during the application’s install or uninstall.
In these cases, a special removal tool will come to the rescue. Since such utilities are created by the developers of the applications themselves, they are perfectly “aware” of where in the system the corresponding application stores its data and settings and what protection against the removal of these items must be overcome, which often happens when removing traces of antiviruses.
In order for you not to have to manually search for such tools, Reg Organizer displays all your applications for which a developer removal tool is available in the REMOVAL UTILITIES FROM THE DEVELOPERS section in the left part of the Applications tool’s window.
When in the applications list you select an application that has an ability to uninstall using the removal tool from the developer, you will have the two options. The first one is to launch the regular uninstall mechanism with the Uninstall Application button. The second is to run the removal utility from the developer using the … Removal Tool button (where the developer of the application to be deleted will be displayed instead of the ellipsis).
In the first case, the classic uninstall method will be launched. It will perform the application traces lookup as it does for any other program. In the second case, a special removal tool will be downloaded from the developer’s website and launched to perform a complete developer-powered comprehensive removal.
